The Davao City Torotot Festival is celebrated every New Year's Eve, created in support of the city's advocacy for a safe, cost-efficient, and enjoyable New Year celebration without firecrackers. In line with the city's firecracker ban, thousands of Dabawenyos gather to simultaneously blow party horns (torotots). The event includes contests for the most creative torotot, torotot-inspired costumes, and street dancing.
